Job Description: 

Equipment

Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. Sometimes, moving material by hand. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.

Receiving/ Put away: Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.

Order Picking: Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

Loading: Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containers.

Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.

Inventory: Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.

General clean up of your work area or as assingned by management including, sweeping, moping, picking up trash, etc....

QUALIFICATIONS

ADMINISTRATIVE

Safety, Housekeeping, Security: Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that  promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and other applicable standards. Report issues and problems to Management.

Communication: Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Services, Transportation and Maintenance.

Value-Add Services: May help with pick and pack, light assembly and record storage. Pick and pack is defined as order picking and/or assembly of products in less than full case lots. Light assembly is defined as assembly of light mechanical or electrical component parts or sub-assemblies that may require the use of had tools. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.

Safety: Will support and abide by the company’s  safety program and all safety initiatives, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • High School Diploma or better
  • Must be able to follow specific cleaning guidelines and instructions
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge/skills: Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. Must also be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods(at least two hours straight, four times in an 8- hour day). Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper technique to lift 50 pounds.

    The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important. Familiarity with MHE is required. Must be able to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines due to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.

    Special Requirements: Must have responsible work habits and pass any pre-employment tests. Must pass the drug test and a background check.

    Must meet OSHA and company requirements for MHE training and certification.
