Fiberglass Technician, Rio Rancho, NM

Maleko Personnel is seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician to join our client’s team (Temp to Hire). This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in fiberglass/composite repair, specifically in the aircraft industry. If you have a minimum of 1 year of experience in fiberglass repair (automotive experience is also acceptable), we want to hear from you!

As a Fiberglass Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality repairs on aircraft components using epoxy resins, fiberglass, or carbon cloth. You will utilize appropriate tooling and fixtures for wet lay-up repairs, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities/ Qualifications:

  • Perform wet lay-up repairs using epoxy resins, fiberglass or carbon cloth, and associated tooling/fixtures
  • Repair and restore aircraft components to their original condition, following technical specifications and quality standards
  • Work with pre-preg, vacuum bagging techniques, and apply spray painting when required
  • Assist in the setup and operation of equipment for fiberglass repairs
  • Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with safety procedures and industry standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Collaborate with a team to meet repair deadlines production goals
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in fiberglass/composite repair, preferably in the aircraft industry (automotive fiberglass experience is also acceptable)
  • Proficient in wet lay-up repairs using fiberglass and epoxy resins
  • Experience with pre-peg, vacuum bagging, spray painting is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
  • Knowledge of safety standards and proper handling of materials
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move components weighing up to 35-55lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
  • Pay Rate: $18/hr.
