A Construction and Restoration Work job description typically involves repairing, cleaning, and rebuilding properties damaged by fire, water, mold, or other disasters, including tasks like assessing damage, removing debris, and restoring structures to a safe and livable condition. Construction Workers complete various construction and building projects as employees of construction companies. They work as part of a larger team of other Construction Workers and specialty subcontractors, such as Electricians and Plumbers. Sometimes, they also collaborate with Architects, Engineers and General Contractors.
Construction Workers follow building plans and instructions to build structures. Possibility of digging holes and trenches to prepare a building’s foundation, clear away debris and other hazards and set up barriers around the construction site. The job might also involve climbing ladders, using heavy equipment and using tools to perform assigned work tasks

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Damage Assessment: Evaluate the extent of damage to properties, determining what can be salvaged and what needs to be replaced.
  • Debris Removal: Clear and dispose of damaged materials and debris from the affected areas.
  • Cleaning and Sanitization: Clean and sanitize affected areas, including water extraction, carpet/floor drying, mold remediation, and deodorization.
  • Restoration and Repair: Repair or replace damaged materials, such as drywall, plumbing, framing, and flooring.
  • Salvage and Storage: Clean and store salvageable belongings and property.
  • Customer Service: Address customer concerns, explain job specifications, and provide updates on progress.
  • Safety: Adhere to personal safety standards by wearing appropriate protective gear and using the right equipment.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and store tools and equipment.
  • Review Work Orders: Review daily work orders and prepare for demolition.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare the job site by clearing debris and setting up equipment.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards.
