Mold Removal Crew, Tualatin, OR
Pay Range: $20/hr. – $25/hr.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation & Containment:
- Set up containment barriers using plastic sheeting and tape to isolate affected areas.
- Install and monitor negative air machines to control airflow and prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintain clean entry/exit zones to reduce tracking mold or debris outside the work area.
- Mold Remediation & Cleaning:
- Remove mold-contaminated materials such as drywall, insulation, carpet, or baseboards.
- Use HEPA vacuums and antimicrobial cleaning agents to thoroughly clean and sanitize surfaces.
- Apply mold-resistant sealants when required.
- Equipment Operation & Monitoring:
- Set up and maintain dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, and other drying equipment.
- Use moisture meters and hygrometers to monitor moisture levels and document progress.
- Documentation & Communication:
- Take before/after photos and document job site progress.
- Communicate with supervisors or project managers about site conditions and updates.
- Record daily logs, moisture readings, and any relevant observations.
- Job Site Cleanup:
- Remove and dispose of waste materials safely and in compliance with company procedures.
- Break down containment and clean all used tools and equipment.
- Ensure the job site is clean, safe, and ready for the next phase of work or inspection.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
As part of this role, all technicians will be provided with and expected to use appropriate PPE, including:
- Full-face or half-face respirator (fit testing required and provided regularly)
- Disposable Tyvek suits
- Nitrile or rubber gloves
- Safety goggles or protective face shields
- Steel-toe boots or work-appropriate footwear
Fit testing and respirator training will be completed before working on any live mold sites.
Basic Tools and Equipment (Technician Should Have or Be Familiar With):
- Utility knife and blades
- Tape measure
- Pry bar or crowbar
- Hammer
- Screwdrivers (multi-head preferred)
- Moisture meter (pin and/or pinless)
- Handheld sprayers or pump sprayers
- Drill with bits (basic carpentry use)
- Tool pouch or belt for easy access
Technicians are expected to treat tools with care, maintain cleanliness, and report any damage or maintenance needs.
- Site Preparation & Containment:
